Savings Club

The SAW Conference is a wonderful opportunity for Affiliated Clubs and their Members to get together with other writers in a setting which becomes a fantastic learning and social environment. It cannot be overemphasised just how valuable we think such an opportunity is for aspiring writers. We believe the negotiated Hotel costs to be extremely good value for money, however we are aware that some writers find the Conference costs difficult to raise. This paper hopes to suggest a variety of ways in which clubs can help, especially by introducing a SAVINGS CLUB.

SAW 100 Club

The SAW 100 Club is an effortless way to support the work of the Association by joining this simple lottery for only £12 per annum. Since June 2014, the winners have been listed on our Newsletter and Facebook Page and notified of their winnings by Jen. Every penny of the money raised goes to support the projects and work of the Association and underpin the Conference costs.

Club Outreach Visits

Visits to affiliated clubs and those considering membership are an essential integer of our Club Development Strategy and have been very successful. During 2015 - 16 we have exciting plans to develop this service. Clubs have especially welcomed the opportunity to put faces to Council members and to get the chance to quiz the Outreach Team on all manner of Association business. From the point of view of the Council we have learned a great deal about clubs, their needs and wants and it is genuinely a joint learning experience.

Requesting an Outreach Visit is a very simple matter of contacting our Club Development Secretary - Cathie Devitt ( )
